5 (Free) Apps I Use to Organize My Life

To do lists, events, work, college, groceries– there are a million things to keep track of! If your life is crazy busy like mine, it can be difficult to track everything going on.

I’m a full-time housewife, full-time student with a part time job and volunteer hours to keep organized. Here, I’ve compiled a list of apps that help me stay sane, and make sure everything gets done!

1. Evernote

This app helps me stay organized SO so much. I have a main notebook for most lists, as well as a notebook for blog ideas. Here, I write down all of my grocery lists, post inspirations, phone numbers or contacts I need to remember, and basically all of those little things that come up that need to be written down or I WILL forget. It’s nicer than the notes app already on your phone because you can make checklists, bullet lists, customize fonts, add photos, and organize your notes.

2. Trello

Trello is what I use to write out my daily to do lists and keep track of my school assignments. I write out a list labeled with each day of the week, and add cards on each day with assignments. I love that I am able to add due dates and checklists to each card, which helps me break down the tasks into achievable steps. You can also add collaborators to your boards and make teams. This app is ideal for to-do lists, assignments, and large and/or collaborative projects. I definitely couldn’t live without this one!

3. Google Drive

I say for every thought, project, or idea that pops into my mind, there is probably a google doc for it. Google drive is excellent for writing out essays if you’re in school, making outlines for work projects, or basically anything you need to get on paper. For example, I have folders for classes, my blog, and events I am planning, and can easily add a document or spreadsheet as needed. This app has helped me organize everything from projects, to parties, to homework. Definitely a must-have.

4. Google Calendar

Look, I so want to be a paper planner girl, and believe me, I still love my pink-floral, spiral bound, personalized-planner, BUT google calendar just works. I always have my phone on me– which is something I can’t say for my planner – and it is so easy to add events, and schedule appointments. I love how everything is displayed so you can see your week at a glance, and know if your events will overlap or not. It is also super easy to move around your events or change time and date. The biggest win, is now that I am married I kind of need the collaborative element that google calendar allows. Now we don’t have to wonder where the other person is all the time! (communication help anyone?)

These are just a few of the apps I use to make my crazy life a little more manageable. Let me know if you want more specifics on how I use each of them!

  1. I love the whole Google Suite! It takes a quick second to get used to but I find it super helpful. My husband and I use it all the time! I have to check out Trello! Thanks for sharing!!
